June 14,15 recording of the new suite "Human Activity" with Brad Shepik (guitar, tambura, saz), Ralph Alessi (trumpet), Gary Versace (piano, organ, accordion), Drew Gress (bass), Tom Rainey (drums). The recording will be released on Songlines in early 2009.

"Human Activity" is a suite for jazz quintet based on the possible effects of climate change throughout the world. The piece features Brad Shepik (guitars, saz, tambura) Ralph Alessi (trumpet), Gary Versace (piano, organ, accordion), Drew Gress (bass), Tom Rainey (drums). Set times on June 11 and 12 are at 10pm and 11:30, the entire suite will be performed over the two sets. "Human Activity" was created with support from Chamber Music America's New Works: Creation and Presentation Program, funded through the generosity of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
